Dr. Saumya is a full-time corporate professional, a passionate teacher and also a part-time trainer in some well-known MNCs. She holds an experience of over 1700 hours in 'Training & Development'. She has over 10 years of teaching experience in various institutes.
She has 18 years of corporate experience in Sales, Marketing, Corporate Strategy, and HR. She has an overall knowledge of all the segments of many markets in Luxury products.
She possesses an MBA degree with dual specialization in Marketing & International Trade. She is a Gold Medalist in her PGDPM Course in Rani Durgavati Vishvidyalaya, Jabalpur (M.P). She has recently completed her Ph.D. in "Analysis of functions, Efficiency and the Profitability of a Particular E-commerce" from Rajasthan University.
Dr. Saumya started her corporate journey as a Customer Support Executive at Punwire Mobile Communications Limited, Chandigarh. Then she shifted her role to be a Public Relations Officer - E-Commerce B2B platform for College of Computers and Communications in Jabalpur, followed by being a Sales representative at Crossword–Book Store.
In February 2001, she came to Mumbai and worked for a rubber company called Rubber Commerce LLC as an Assistant Manager- Customer Support.
In June 2002, she quit her job and joined Suashish Jewellery Ltd., Mumbai as Manager- Customer Support (International). During this period, she received the Wal-Mart Retail Link training from Hong Kong and later represented the company at the Wal-Mart Vendor Training program in 2003.
In August 2004, Dr. Saumya started working with Gold Star Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. (a Gold & Diamond Studded jewellery manufacturing company a part of Ratilal Tribhovandas Group) as Senior Manager – Corporate Strategy.
She ensured the registration and the renewal of intellectual properties relating to jewellery both domestically & internationally. She was an assistant facilitator between Indian and overseas offices for getting IPs (Intellectual Property) registered. She also liaised with the agents and represented the marketing team for audits held by Rio Tinto & DTC along with ISO 9001:2000.
She has attended various international trade shows such as JCK Vegas in Las Vegas, Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Show in Hong Kong, Basel World Jewellery & Watch Show – Basel, Vicenzaoro – Vicenza, and The IIJS show – Mumbai. She was also responsible for visual merchandising at these shows from 2005 to 2008.
She also took an initiative of revamping the organization from an HR perspective by organizing motivational training programs for the entire staff strength of 800 people (both out-bound & in-house). Her efforts resulted in increased revenue by 50% and market share by 10%.
In August 2014, Dr. Saumya became the Deputy General Manager- Corporate Strategy, HR and IR.
In April 2017, Dr. Saumya was promoted as the General Manager - Corporate Strategy, HR and IR. With the new designation came some new roles in her kitty. This included supporting the delivery of HR strategies, policies, and procedures in line with the organization's strategic goals through effective people management practices.
Dr. Saumya is a certified Soft-Skills & Behavioral Trainer from Edify consultants (a consulting firm that helps to update skills to adapt to the changes by providing training and conducting workshops) and conducted training on Personal Effectiveness, Time management, Value Engineering, Operational Excellence, Communication & Interpersonal Skills, Customer Focus, Corporate Governance & Statutory Compliance, and many more.
She has also conducted tool-based part-time corporate training assignments for big corporate houses in Mumbai. She had conducted a Soft-Skills and Behavioral training for Crompton Greaves and conducted in-house training for Gold Star.
She also looks after the Training Needs Assessment (TNA) and Training Need Identification (TNI) and conducts Leadership Development Programs to make the leaders ready for future challenges in the industry & organization specifically. She has also been a Business & Life Coach trainer to the First family at Gold Star.
She has been an empanelled Faculty for many institutes like:

Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery
Universal Business School, Karjat
Along with providing training, Dr. Saumya has also been a regular speaker on matters such as Brand Management, Employee Life Cycle Management, and Business and Life Coach at various B-schools and other forums.
She has spoken on various topics at different Events, some of them are listed below:
Gems & Jewellery industry and in a recent session spoke on the "Trends in the Gems & Jewellery Industry". She was invited to speak on the "Hiring Trends in the Jewellery Industry" at IIJS (India International Jewellery Show).
She has also hosted a corporate event for the Indian Value Engineering Society in the year 2011.
Recently she spoke at the Asia Pacific HRM Congress on Diversity and Inclusion and was awarded "the Most Innovative HR Leaders ASEAN region".
She also spoke at the India CXS Summit and Awards held on 08th March 2019 in Mumbai.
Dr. Saumya was also invited for the HR4R Speaker series to be held in November 2019 to speak on "Recruit Right – Retain Right".
